FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can't find the answer - call ski school direct on 01928 701965 or text message to 07941 554988
What are the opening times?
We are open every day, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day.
With the exception of the fixed, open skiing times, all session times are flexible.
We run more sessions when we are busy, if slope space and instructor availability allows.
Generally, the office is open and phones are answered
WEEKDAYS 11am - 8pm
WEEKENDS 10am - 5pm
At times we are all busy and cannot answer phones. If you are calling in to the centre and are not booked, please call first to check we will be available - we might all be on the slopes teaching!
Do I need to book?
Booking is required for all lessons and for open use (except Tuesday and Sunday open sessions). We try to keep class sizes small, often no more than 8 people per instructor. This allows more personal instruction on emptier slopes.
Bookings for lessons and open sessions can be made by phoning ski school direct on 01928 701965.
You will speak to an instructor who will be able to offer the best possible advice on which lessons will be most appropriate for you, not just the lesson we want to sell you!
All sessions must be paid for at the time of booking to reserve places.
JUNIOR TICKETS are available for ages 5 - 15 years
ADULT TICKETS are for ages 16 years and over
'2 or more' tickets are available when at least 2 tickets are purchased for the same session at the same time.
Do I need lessons?
You can only ski without lessons if you are competent; that is you can control both speed and direction with confidence, and use the ski lift. Lessons are essential for all beginners, and well worth having no matter how good you are or how long you have been skiing.
Instructors are trained to identify your specific needs, and give appropriate exercises.
What do I need to bring and wear?
The slopes are outdoors, and are used in all weather conditions. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather on the day. Expensive ski wear is not required for dry ski slopes. We provide boots, skis or snowboards, and helmets.
Essentials are long trousers, and long socks (ski socks or football socks are ideal). Arms and legs should be fully covered. You may wish to bring gloves as the skiing surface can be rough on the hands.
PLEASE NOTE THAT LEGGINGS OR TIGHTS ARE NOT SUITABLE CLOTHING FOR DRY SLOPE USE
Should you be wearing unsuitable or inappropriate clothing for your safety you may not be allowed to use the facilities and no refund or transfer can be given.
Do you sell ski equipment?
No, we simply don't have the space or time to sell new boots or skis!! But we often have ex-rental skis available to buy at bargain prices.
We sell gloves and ski socks if you have forgotten them.
I need to change the day or time of my booking
When you book, we allocate slope space and instructor time, which is then not available for other people. If you need to change a booking time or date, please let us know as soon as possible by phone, email, or text message.
We are happy to change bookings upto 5pm the day before without charge.
Changes on the day are expensive for us; we have instructors booked, have allocated you slope space, and may have refused other customers. We are unable to transfer or refund sessions on the day of your booked visit.
(There is no charge if you wish to just change to an earlier or later time and this is possible.)
All changes are of course only possible if there is availability to do so. The earlier you can let us know, the more options you will have!
I need to cancel my booking
When you book we allocate you slope space and instructor time, which is then unavailable for other users to book.
If you need to cancel a booking, please let us know as soon as possible.
Refunds for cancelled bookings are given, subject to a small charge to cover our costs, as follows.
- more than 7 days notice - £10 fee
- less than 7 days notice - £20 fee
- less than 2 days notice - no refunds
All cancellations should be confirmed in writing as soon as possible. Refunds will be made as soon as possible after we receive your written cancellation to the same card used to pay the booking; cash bookings can only be refunded by cheque.
